Wedding Invitations and Stationary
If you are getting married in Edinburgh or anywhere in the UK there are lots of options available to
you for wedding invitations and stationary. You should start thinking about your invitations around
4-5 months before your wedding date if possible. This will allow you time to have them personalised,
printed and sent out 6-8 weeks before your wedding day.
Remember that the first impression people will get of your wedding are the invitations they receive
from you. You will probably want to choose invitations that fit in with the theme of your wedding and
perhaps also with the colour scheme. You'll also need to think about the wording of your invitation and
try to make this unique and of course accurate!
You have a few options open to you for invitations. Which one you choose is entirely up to you
and depends on your personal taste, how much time you have and what your budget is
- Buy Ready Made Invites - if you are on a budget or don't have time to get your invitations
printed you may just want to buy ready made invitations. You can get these from department stores,
stationary shops, high street greetings card shops,
Ebay
or the larger Tesco store.
- Order Personalised Invites from a Department store or Stationary shop - department
stores such as Debhenams and John Lewis have a wedding stationary service. As does
Confetti.
- Order Personalised Invites from Ebay - Ebay is not just for old or unwanted items, there are actually thousands of wedding
invitations on there too. Most of them are sold by people who have their own small business creating invitations and they are generally
much more reasonably priced than in the shops.
All you need to do is register on eBay for free
and search for wedding invitations
- Make your Own Invites - if you are feeling creative, why not make your own invites? This will give
you a chance to add your own personal touch and you can also save money at the same time. You can
buy stationary supplies at most good stationary shops, on Ebay or
from the Confetti Shop
- Choose invites at a wedding fair - you will often find stationary designers at
wedding fairs. This gives you a chance to see samples
of their work, get a copy of their price list and consider ordering from them.
Remember that in addition to wedding invites you may also have to organise order of services for the
church or ceremony and place settings, menu cards and seating plans for the reception if these are
not being provided for you already.
