Invitations, Flowers and Cake

At the moment I don't have too many more things to organise for the big day, it's mainly the flowers, wedding cake and invitations.

I have to admit to being a bit lazy over the last few weeks when it comes to wedding planning. Apart from visiting the venue again and ordering some sample invitations from Ebay I haven't done much! Time to kick start myself into action again!

Next week I plan to have a full day of wedding planning with my Mum, including a visit to Garlands in Elm row, the florist who does the package flowers for the Balmoral, a visit to Jenners to have a look at wedding cakes, followed by a little trip to Glasgow on the train to visit the Confetti shop and decide whether or not creating my own invitations is something that I want to do.

The Balmoral wedding package I have chosen includes table arrangements, a top table garland, a pedestal flower arrangement and a cake table garland. I plan on visiting Garlands, the florist they use to select these flowers and have a look at what they have to offer for bouquets. In the name of getting the best deal I will also visit at least one other florist to have a look at what they can offer for bouquets. I am hoping for some inspiration from photos, as when it comes to flowers I haven't a clue what I'd like!

On the matter of wedding cake, although I am sorely tempted to visit lots and lots of cake shops in the hope of sampling many a piece of iced chocolate sponge and other assorted wedding cakes I am going to resist. It will certainly not help my diet if I do this and I am on a mission to lose a stone over the next 4 months.

Look out for another update next week about how I got on with my invitations, flowers and cakes.
